Professional Publishing With Partnership
Why authors get a much better deal with Keith Publishing
Welcome to Keith Publishing, a new kind of publishing partnerships where authors enjoy a simpler, shared process; and more financial and creative rewards. In this partnership we share everything 50:50. That includes the some of the creation and all the revenue from your books.
Working together, we share our experience to help authors turn their strong ideas into concise, professionally produced books, without all the delays, politics and limitations of traditional publishing.
We specialise in nano books and short form titles. Sharp, practical and engaging short-form books designed for modern readers who want their insights and stories without 300 pages of filler.
These are published mainly online in downloadable formats as nano-books. We also share the costs of producing your nano-book, mainly turning your textsinto downloadable formats such as PDFs. If the author wants printed copies we share those costs too.
Keith Publishing is built by publishers who know the industry, know what’s broken about it, and know the best way to fix it.
We have moved away from traditional publishing.
The revenue split
Retailers – online and bricks and mortar shops – take 50% of the retail price.
Publishers take 35% of the retail price to cover production, print, warehousing and marketing
As an author you are left with 5-15% of the retail price as part of the retail agreement with the publisher. If you have an agent they are likely to take some 15%.
So, what publishers often call ‘net receipts’ leave authors with no more than pence or a few pounds.
Keith Publishing has changed all that. If a book is priced at £10.00, say, the authors receive half of that, less the costs of producing the online version – and print. We both are likely to cover our costs in 20 books are sold.
(Note: these are ballpark figures).
